Kimberly Gauthier of Keep the Tail Wagging
Keep the Tail Wagging® is a blog about raw-feeding and dog nutrition based on the personal experiences of dog mom, Kimberly Gauthier, who wants to encourage dog parents to make natural choices for their dogs.
How long has your business been in existence?
Keep the Tail Wagging® celebrated 5 years in December 2016.
Why did you start your own business?
I started my own business to become an influencer in the pet industry, be my own boss, and work from home so I can hang out with my dogs all day.
What sets you apart from your competition?
What sets me apart from my competition is that I'm not a veterinarian or nutritionist. I'm learning along with my readers.
Who’s your target clientele?
My target clientele is pet parents who are interested in feeding their dogs a better diet in an effort to treat, cure, or prevent health problems.
One overall business advice for other small business owners.
My advice to small business owners is "Don't Work for Free." It's tempting to work for free in an effort to get your name out there, however, our services are valuable and when we give away our services for free, we diminish that value.
What service(s) did you use Ankhi-Krol Law for?
Ankhi-Krol Law helped me trademark my blog name: Keep the Tail Wagging.
Why is that service(s) necessary/important in your industry?
As the Keep the Tail Wagging brand grows, owning the trademark added a level of credibility and professionalism to my blog. I'm no longer seen as a hobbyist.
What is your advice for others in your industry who are in need of legal help?
My advice to people in my industry who are in need of legal help is "Don't Wait." As your business grows, legal issues will sprout up; it's important to have an attorney whom you trust and who knows your industry on speed-dial.
What was your overall professional experience with Ankhi-Krol Law?
Working with Ankhi-Krol Law has made me appreciate the value of gaining legal advice. I appreciate the regular communication, the experience and education, and the down to earth advice I received from Ankhi-Krol Law.
One fun fact about you.
It takes me 30 minutes to wake up my dogs each morning because each dog and I have a wake-up routine - they range from tummy rubs, kisses, hugs, and the game "I got your paw."

Shahrina Ankhi-Krol is the founder of Ankhi-Krol Law. She started the law firm with the goal of providing accessible and transparent legal representation to small business owners after noticing that small business owners are often uninformed or ill-informed of the law. As a result, they either attempt to solve legal problems on their own or do nothing at all. Both courses of action are dangerous as “un-doing” a legal mistake – either through misfeasance or non-feasance – costs more money and time than would have been spent if the business owners obtained legal counsel from the start. Ms. Ankhi-Krol not only provides legal representation, but also provides business counseling to her clients in order to identify and address small problems before they become unmanageable.
