Shahrina Ankhi-Krol is the founder and owner of Ankhi-Krol Law. Her passion and dedication to the field of law have earned her the opportunity to work in various legal settings. Prior to starting her own law practice, she interned for a Judge in the New York State Supreme Court, worked at the Office of the Attorney General of Michigan, and in various law firms. She has been involved in depositions, trials, and large-scale discovery for internationally recognized law firms. As a result of the extensive knowledge and experience she obtained in the past, she is comfortable in handling any legal situation.
Founding the Firm
Ms. Ankhi-Krol started Ankhi-Krol Law with the goal of providing legal representation to small business owners. She noticed that small business owners are often uninformed or ill-informed of the law. As a result, they often attempt to solve their legal problems on their own or do nothing at all. Both courses of action are dangerous as “un-doing” a legal mistake usually costs more money and time than obtaining legal counsel from the start. Ms. Ankhi-Krol not only provides legal representation, but also provides business counseling to her clients in order to identify and address potential weaknesses before they become big problems. She regularly represents individuals, business entities, employers, and employees on various matters related to business, contract, intellectual property law, and preventive litigation.
As an avid entrepreneur herself, Ms. Ankhi-Krol understands and appreciates the struggles of entrepreneurs and small business owners. In the process of building Ankhi-Krol Law from scratch, in the cut-throat competitive environment of New York City, Ms. Ankhi-Krol endured many (if not all) of the obstacles faced by entrepreneurs in other industries.
Throughout her journey of building Ankhi-Krol Law into a successful law practice, Ms. Ankhi-Krol attended countless networking meetings, events, and conferences, to expand her business connections. Additionally, because her law firm works exclusively with entrepreneurs, she gained exceptional insight into the needs, wants, and fears entrepreneurs experience in business networking situations. She understands that the livelihood of entrepreneurs often depends on meaningful, accessible business networking.
Over the last few years, she developed MeetPreneur® (meetpreneur.com), a free ground-breaking location-based business networking mobile app (iOS and Android), to make business networking more welcoming, accessible, and efficient for all entrepreneurs. MeetPreneur® connects entrepreneurs from all industries, anywhere, anytime – around the corner or at a business conference. MeetPreneur® eliminates the pains of traditional business networking by providing meaningful, convenient, and inexpensive opportunities to network based on each user’s availability and location.
Her passion for entrepreneurship has led her to give countless talks and presentations on legal topics affecting entrepreneurs throughout the country, including major educational institutions and international expositions.
Clients of Ankhi-Krol law appreciate and benefit from not only Ms. Ankhi-Krol's extensive legal knowledge but also from her connections, understanding, enthusiasm for entrepreneurship.
Ms. Ankhi-Krol attended law school on scholarship and earned her J.D. with a concentration in Litigation. She was granted several scholarships to obtain her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, with a focus in Archaeology, and a minor in Political Science. She received many honors, awards, and scholarships throughout her educational career.
Throughout her high school years, Ms. Ankhi-Krol worked at the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and at MOMA P.S. 1. While working at those institutions, she interviewed well-known artists, led tours for all age groups, and taught children to create and interpret artwork. During her undergraduate years, she participated in archaeological excavations in Europe. She has traveled extensively around the globe and enjoys learning about history and different cultures.
